We were delighted to have a Guest Reader in our classroom on Friday to celebrate "March is Reading Month." Dr. Dru Montri is the Director of Michigan Farmers Market Association (MIFMA). In addition to her work with MIFMA, she and her husband, Adam, also own and operate Ten Hens Farm on Clark Road. They are parents to Lydia (1st grade) and Allison (Beehive Preschool). She was appointed to the Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development by Governor Snyder in 2014 and recently became the secretary of the Board. The Michigan Farm Bureau encouraged members to visit local schools during "March is Reading Month" and share the 2015 Accurate Ag Book of the Year, The Apple Orchard Riddle, written by Margaret McNamera. Dru read the book, helped students solve the riddle, answered many student questions and had apples slices for everyone to sample! Thank you, Dru!
There will be no spelling words this week. We will have a science test on Forces and Motion on Thursday. Students brought home two study sheets (4 Square Vocabulary Sort and the Chapter Summary) to study over the weekend. They will have one more study aid on Tuesday and review with a jeopardy game on Wednesday.
The Book Box is due Monday, March 30. No school on Friday. Spring Break is the week of April 6-10. School resumes on Monday, April 13.
