Constitution Day

September 17 is Constitution Day and students are required by law to learn about this important date. Third Graders had the privilege of listening to Mrs. Hixson and Mrs. Allison, members of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), as they told interesting facts about our country. They presented students with a pencil, small American flag, a bookmark, and a copy of the Constitution. We read about the Constitution in our Scholastic News today and did a deep reading as we asked and answered questions about the news article (CCSS 3.RI.1) During the afternoon, we made Constitution Day bracelets. This is a fun and important reminder of the Constitution and how it is the law of the land!
