Our first day at Annie's BIG Nature Lesson ended up being a wet one, but a great one. We were privileged to have two expert speakers. Mr. Fijalkowski, the Director of Bengel Wildlife Center, talked to the students about the history of Bath. Be sure to ask them tonight about malaria, the Eastern Elk, the turkey, and the cougar. They learned a lot about the Bath community. In the afternoon, we had an expert on rocks and minerals, Mr. Schalk. Mr. Schalk shared his rock collection and even gave each student a sample to either add to their collection or begin a new one! Tomorrow promises to be another great day of learning and observation.
