Week of October 15-19

Due to the shortened week and MEAP, there will be no spelling words again this week.  Spelling words will resume the week of October 22.  Listed below is the weekly schedule.

Tuesday -- Math MEAP

Wednesday -- Evening Conferences

Thursday -- School dismissed at 12:05 PM--Afternoon and Evening Conferences

Friday -- NO SCHOOL

During our reading block, we will focus on the literary elements of identifying the problem and solution (resolution) in narrative texts.  This helps with understanding the story and helps the reader infer what will happen next.  Students will use a graphic organizer to identify what actions the character took to solve the problem.   In writing and science, we are working on a Water Factoid book for your reading pleasure at conferences.  In math, we have finished Chapter 1 Addition and Subtraction Within 1,000 and will begin Chapter 2 Represent and Interpret Data.
