Constitution Week

We had the privilege of having Mrs. Lou Hixson, of Bath, and Mrs. Allison, of Fowlerville, visit our school this week.  Both of these former teachers are members of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).   They talked to third grade students today about how our Founding Fathers gathered in Pennsylvania in 1787 to write the rules for our country to follow.  They shared many artifacts from Colonial Days and talked to students about the games and chores that boys and girls did in the 1700s.  Students even got to try out walking with stilts!  They gave each child a copy of the Constitution, a bookmark, and a pencil.  Thank you, Mrs. Hixson and Mrs. Allison.
