In preparation for our trip to see Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters on Monday, two volunteers from Wharton Center came to our classroom today to talk about the play and the African culture. Mrs. Brantley and Mrs. Wysocki shared artifacts and photographs from Africa and talked to students about live performances. The culmination of their visit was an opportunity to make an African mask. Students used their creativity and designed a mark in colors depicting those found in Africa. We’re looking forward to the performance on Monday!
