Friday at ABNL
Our last day at Annie's was absolutely perfect. We started the day with reflecting on favorite memories of the week and doing a carousel activity listing all that students learned from Expert Speakers. Thank you to our parents today that helped with all the activities--Mr. and Mrs. Clemen, Mrs. Ingram, Mrs. Klusack, Mrs. Tiraboschi, and Mr. Clarke. You made our day so much smoother and we really appreciate your help. Plus, your child loves to have you join them!
For the afternoon, we cooked Dandelion Fritters! It was a big hit and many students asked for the recipe. Of course, you need freshly picked dandelion flowers, washed and patted dry. (Thank you, Mrs. Ingram, for harvesting our dandelions this morning.) Heat some EVOO in a flying pan. Meanwhile, mix up the batter: 1 cup flour, 1 egg, 1 cup milk, a pinch of salt and a shake of cinnamon. When the oil is hot, dip the flower head in the batter. Place in the hot oil, flower side down. Cook for a few and then flip. Once the fritters are out of the oil, sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!
