Spirit Week

This is Homecoming Week for the high school and the elementary school is getting in the spirit, as well. Check out the Elementary page on the school website for the theme for each day. Go Bees!

Spelling words for this week come from the reading selection, Penguin Chick, Unit 1, Week 4. These words follow the long o spelling pattern. Go to Spelling City to find fun games and activities to do at home.

Please send in your Parent Teacher Conference Sign-up Sheet if you have not done so already. For those forms already sent in, your conference time and a confirmation note is in your child’s mail for Monday. Conferences are Wednesday and Thursday, October 19 and 20. Thursday and Friday are half days of school, dismissing at 12:05 PM.

Third Grade students will take the MEAP (Michigan Educational Assessment Program) ELA (English Language Arts) Assessment on October 11 and 12. MEAP Math is October 18. MEAP is a standardized test that all students in grades 3-8 take in the state of Michigan. In high school, students will take the Michigan Merit Exam (MME). Third grade students will be tested on second grade GLCEs (Grade Level Content Expectations). Please make sure your child eats a good breakfast each morning and gets enough sleep the night before. Many students come to school hungry and/or tired which makes learning and focus more difficult.
