FIELD DAY -- JUNE 2
In June 2014, the Michigan Legislature required the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) to develop a new test for spring 2015. The M-STEP will include summative assessments designed to measure student growth effectively for today’s students. English language arts and mathematics will be assessed in third grade. ELA will be given on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Mathematics will be next week, Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure your child gets enough sleep the night before each assessment and eats a good breakfast on the morning of the assessment. This is the time for them to demonstrate all they have learned this year!
Mr. Saylor has asked that each classroom wear the same color of shirt on field day, June 2nd. Our shirt color is maroon (ABNL t-shirt will be perfect!). He also has asked for a parent to fill water balloons for the sling shot station. Each class will need around 60 balloons for event. Mr. Saylor will purchase balloons with a note for instructions after Memorial Day. If you are able to fill the water balloons, please let me know. If there are no balloons, students will shoot bean bags.
