Students spent last week taking the Spring NWEA assessments (reading, language usage, math, and science). This assessment compares their fall scores with their spring scores to show growth. Students will also take the M-Step Assessment on May 19, 20, 27, and 28. These assessments are important and provide data that shows the growth and learning your child has made in third grade. Having conversations about stamina, determination, and effort would be good to have over the next few days. With the warmer weather and feeling of summer in the air, it can be hard for students to keep their focus.
M-STEP
Students will need to bring in headphones or earbuds to use during the ELA (English Language Arts) portion of M-Step (May 19 and 20). If you do not already have a set, they can be purchased inexpensively at the Dollar Store.
FRACTIONS
Students brought home their "Chapter 9 Comparing Fractions" assessment on Friday. Many students still need additional practice with this abstract concept. Students can practice at FrontRow, TenMarks, or the math practice on the Links page. Thank you for providing time at home to practice and help students with comparing fractions and determining equivalent fractions.
