We have another short, but busy week planned for Room 210. We will read the reading selection, Seven Spools of Thread (Unit 4, Week 2), a fable from Ghana. Students will use the comprehension strategy of Making Inferences and Drawing Conclusions. The spelling words this week follow the /ou/ sound and in grammar students will learn about linking verbs. We will finish up Chapter 6 on division and have a chapter assessment on Thursday, February 21. In science, we are continuing to learn about animal adaptions. The end of unit assessment for adaptations will be a research and writing assignment. Students will learn about the project and see a rubric at the beginning of the week.
Please help your child at home with multiplication facts, spelling words, and oral reading. Any extra help they get really helps in the classroom.
Thank you to parents that helped plan the Valentine Party and supply the tasty food. The students had a fantastic time and enjoyed the afternoon.
