Today, students did a pre-test on the spelling words for the week. The pre-test is in your child’s Fighting Bees Folder. The words that are highlighted are words that your child has not yet mastered. Please practice this week so that your child experiences success on Friday for the Spelling Test. A great place to practice these words is at Spelling City. A link to Spelling City is on the right hand side of the blog under “My Blog List”. The words this week focus on short vowels and come from the reading selection, “First Day Jitters.” (Unit 1, Week 1) You can expect a spelling test each Friday with a pre-test on Monday.
Your child is also bringing home a Scholastic Book Order. You can order books using the form or you can order on-line by following the directions and using the class code attached. Ordering on-line is quick and convenient, plus, the classroom earns $3 for each on-line order. This is a great way to expand the classroom library and give your child lots of choices during "Read to Self".
