Weekly Highlights

It was a short week for students in Room 210, but a busy one! We are writing stories for Young Author's Day, using a variety of comprehension strategies when we read, and learning about animal adaptations in science. Our basil plants in the AeroGarden have grown quite a lot and we'll be making pesto soon! In math, we have started multiplication and are learning about groups/sets and arrays. We have a multiplication drill daily and many students need practice with facts. Please encourage your child to learn their multiplication facts at home. A quick and fun way is to practice the facts while you're driving in the car. You don't need pencil or paper and it can really help with automaticity and fluency in recalling the facts. You give your child two factors and have them tell you the product! On Friday, students worked collaboratively to make posters for our school that show PRIDE in a variety of places around the school. PRIDE is our school-wide behavior plan and encourages students to make good choices with their behavior.

SPRING PICTURES
Spring pictures will be taken on Wednesday, March 2. You have the option to purchase these photographs AFTER you see them. No need to send in money this week!

EARLY RELEASE DAY
On Thursday, March 10, school will be dismissed at 2:15 PM. Parent Teacher Conferences will be held that afternoon and evening. Let me know if you would like to discuss your child's academic progress.
