We spent a fantastic day at the State Capitol and Michigan Historical Museum. Some students were privileged to be allowed on the House floor, thanks to Emily Angell's aunt who works for Representative Tom Pierce. Other students were acknowledged from the floor of the Senate by Senator Alan Cropsey.
Students enjoyed the Historical Museum as artifacts brought to life all they have been learning about Michigan History. Docents were able to give them the nitty-gritty on events from the past. Families are encouraged to go back to the museum and learn all about Michigan's past.
Thanks to parent chaperones Bruce Angell, Gwen Nugent, and Julie Schonfeld. They helped make the day successful and fun for the class.
